Dear Graduates,

It is with great pride and excitement that I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the outstanding Class of 2026 in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Earning a degree in engineering is a remarkable accomplishment. You conquered challenging coursework, long nights in labs, ambitious design projects, and navigated discoveries that expanded your skills and strengthened your character. Through every challenge, you demonstrated resilience, determination and a commitment to excellence.

You are graduating at a transformative moment in technology. Artificial intelligence is reshaping industries, software continues to redefine how we live and work, and advances in computing, semiconductors, communications, and intelligent systems are creating new possibilities every day. The world needs engineers who can innovate responsibly and lead with technical expertise and creativity.

This year also marks an exciting chapter for the department. Alongside our long-standing excellence in electrical and computer engineering, we continue to expand our reach in computer science and engineering, and software engineering. Together, these programs create a unique ecosystem that spans the full technology stack – from hardware and systems to algorithms, AI and software.

As you begin your next chapter – whether in industry, academia, entrepreneurship, or public service, I encourage you to remain curious, courageous, and collaborative. Continue learning, embrace opportunities, and use your talents to make a meaningful difference in the world.

Please stay connected with your alma mater. We look forward to hearing about your accomplishments and welcoming you back as alumni, mentors and proud Wildcats.

To your families, friends, and supporters: thank you for helping make this achievement possible.

Congratulations again, Class of 2026. We cannot wait to see what you accomplish next.

Bear Down!
