The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering recently received a generous equipment donation from Keysight Technologies, a global leader in electronic test and measurement solutions. Keysight donated 41 waveform generators valued at $101,516 to expand the hands-on learning experience in ECE’s undergraduate labs.

Installed in August across three lab rooms, the equipment joins other Keysight testing systems to create state-of-the-art labs with industry-grade tools.

"Thanks to Keysight Technologies, our undergraduate labs are now equipped with cutting-edge waveform generators that are transforming the hands-on learning experience," said Dale Hetherington, ECE professor of practice in electrical and computer engineering. "This donation is a game-changer for our program.  Our test and measurement set-ups go much faster, and we can now explore more electronic circuits."

Mike Hoffman, account manager for Keysight Technologies, emphasized the company's commitment to education and innovation.

"We're proud to partner with the University of Arizona to help prepare the next generation of engineers," Hoffman said. "Hands-on experience with professional-grade test equipment is essential for developing real-world problem-solving skills."

Speaking directly to students, Hoffman added: "You're learning on the same technology that's shaping industries today, from aerospace to AI. Take full advantage of these tools, stay curious and keep pushing boundaries. The skills you build here will open doors across the engineering world."
