Xin's Startup Graduates From BMW Accelerator
The technology startup Lunewave, co-founded by ECE professor Hao Xin, recently became the first ever company to graduate from BMW's startup accelerator URBAN-X to the BMW Startup Garage.
In a news post, BMW's Startup Garage explained how Lunewave is going to take on an important role in making cars automated. "We were able to successfully validate Lunewave’s high performance, 3D-printed radar sensor technology, paving the way for safe and affordable automated driving as well as a continued business relation between the startup and the BMW Group!"
Lunewave seeks to develop a high performance, high value automotive radar sensor system for autonomous driving applications, capable of high resolution, up to 360-degree field of view, and a long detection range of 300+ meters.
“Many of the startup innovations in our pilot projects are so exciting and visionary that it’s a tough task for us not to talk about them more. We are looking forward to the innovations that will find their way into series production and our processes in the coming years,” said Bernhard Schambeck, head of the BMW Startup Garage.
