While interning at Mahr Inc. in 2019, ECE student Sam Badger developed a library to automate a piece of software. Looking for a way to build on the work, and heading into his senior year, Badger realized he had the opportunity to shape his capstone experience by starting a company and sponsoring his own project.
The result: Façade Technologies. Badger, now the CEO, is working with his capstone teammates to develop software called Facile, which creates application programming interfaces for other software.
“Facile produces APIs that automate the role of the user,” Badger said. “Maybe you have a lot of software that you want to be more connected. Say, you want to extract data from an inventory program, insert some of it into a tax program and post some of it to your website. Multiple Facile APIs could work together to achieve this.”
Badger says Façade's goal is to provide every business with the tools to improve software capabilities, either on the producer or consumer level.
After graduation, Badger hopes to license usage of Facile.
