College recognizes outstanding students, teaching assistants
Electrical and computer engineering undergraduate Briana Shannon Curley (center) accepts the outstanding senior award.
At an event held in the University of Arizona Student Union Memorial Center on April 8, the College of Engineering honored 17 undergraduate seniors, nine graduate students, and 10 teaching assistants for top performance in academics and research.
"This is one of the best days of the year," said David W. Hahn, the Craig M. Berge Dean of the college. "Today, we get to celebrate you and everything you've accomplished."
ECE senior Briana Shannon Curley, SFWE senior Megan Zupancic and graduate student Sujan Ghimire, along with ECE teaching assistant Alex Romero-Lozano were all recognized for their hard work and dedication.
“Briana’s nomination was a complete consensus between faculty across the department to recognize her outstanding performance," said Ali Bilgin, associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. "She performed at a level comparable to graduate students in the same classes – that’s not an easy accomplishment.”
