Abstract
This presentation delves into the rapidly evolving fields of accelerated computer vision, CV foundation models, and the latest advances in Vision-Language Models (VLMs). It explores the technologies that enable faster, more efficient vision-based applications and discusses the state-of-the-art (SOTA) models currently driving these advancements. Accelerated CV and VLMs are transforming AI applications, with potential to enhance efficiency, creativity, and problem-solving across industries. The talk highlights the importance of ongoing research and the exciting future of these technologies.

Bio
Vidya Murali is a senior director of the TAO computer vision toolkit at NVIDIA. TAO is a low code, AI native toolkit and API for training, adaptation and optimization of computer vision AI models for creating production application workflows at scale. TAO is built on top of GPU accelerated DL Frameworks with contributions from research, software, and enterprise teams. Prior to joining NVIDIA, Vidya was head of perception at Ford Motor Company where she led machine learning research & applications for L2/L3 driver-assist features. She holds a PhD in computer vision and robotics from Clemson University.
